Munjya teaser: A ghoul who can’t get over ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’

Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films on Tuesday unveiled the teaser of their upcoming creature horror-comedy Munjya. Helmed by Marathi director Aditya Sarpotdar (Zombivli, 2022), the film features Sharvari, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, S. Sathyaraj.

The teaser opens in a remote forest where a CGI-ed ghoul springs into action as he hears the song ‘Munni Badnaam’  from Dabangg (2010). The creature enters a city, trying to find the source of the song. He peeps into a living room, where some people are watching the music video on a TV screen. As he starts enjoying the song, the TV is switched off. Angered, he attacks the inhabitants of the living room. A text comes on screen, “Munnis Beware. He is coming.”

The film is written by Yogesh Chandekar with additional screenplay and dialogue by Niren Bhatt. Its music has been given by Sachin- Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

As per the makers, the film’s trailer will be out in three days. Munjya is slated to release on June 7.
