Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer fantasy-action film The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest registered a slight increase in its collections on its first Tuesday, a day after they fell to their lowest so far on Monday. In the first day of the week, the Deepak Kumar Mishra directorial made Rs 5.25 crore from 7012 screens as per Sacnilk.com which was a steep decline from its highest-single day earnings of Rs 14.35 crore from 7135 screens on its first Sunday. The collections on Tuesday marginally increased to Rs 6 crore across 7162 screens.
This improvement could be attributed to the discounted ticket prices on the day, as the film has received largely negative reviews.
The Vvaan’s total domestic net collections in five days stands at Rs 44.85 crore. Its worldwide gross is at Rs 57.95 crore.
Given its current trajectory, The Vvaan is most likely to surpass the Rs 60 crore mark at the worldwide box office today on its first Wednesday (day 6), as well as Rs 50 crore net domestically. It has a couple more days to make the most of its run before facing fresh competition this Friday, primarily from Ajay Devgn and Tabu-starrer crime thriller Drishyam 3, which is slated to release on October 2.
The next benchmarks for The Vvaan are Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (Rs 48.12 crore), Varun Dhawan-starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai (Rs 50.46 crore), Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 (Rs 53.06 crore), and Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer Alpha (Rs 57.72 crore).
Co-produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and Arunabh Kumar’s The Viral Fever, The Vvaan also stars Sunil Grover and Maniesh Paul.
CE's Review of The Vvaan read: “Right from the opening scene, where Rishi saves a young person, there is an unexplained rush to the scenes. The film never feels comfortable with its rhythm, always racing through its plot points, as if afraid of the audience’s unforgiving attention span.”
