

On Saturday, Deepika Padukone announced through social media that she has given birth to a baby girl. The announcement dated September 19 came with the picture of a human foot, alongside a piece of text that reads, "Welcome baby girl." This is Deepika and Ranveer's second child. In September 2024, she gave birth to a girl, whom the couple named Dua. They revealed her name in November 2024 and only introduced her face to those on social media a year later. In April this year, the couple announced her second pregnancy.
The latest news comes around two weeks after the celebrity couple shared a photograph featuring them with their daughter on her birthday. "Baby Dua and our hearts are getting bigger! Thank you for your blessings," they wrote at the time.
Several actors and film personalities congratulated the couple on their newborn. Kriti Sanon wrote, "Congratulations you guys!!! Dua has a baby sister!!! Such a blessing!"
Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor congratulated them and shared, "Girls are the best." At the same time, "What a dream," said Sonam Kapoor. "God bless the baby and the family," wrote Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Several fans and well wishers of the couple also joined the jovial mood by leaving heartfelt congratulatory comments for them.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married in November 2018 with a grand wedding ceremony in Lake Como, Italy.
On the work front, Ranveer is filming for Pralay, which is reportedly a post-apocalyptic action and survival thriller, directed by Jai Mehta and co-starring Kalyani Priyadarshan. It has been quite the year for him with the two Dhurandhar films earning more than 3000 crore from theatres worldwide.
Meanwhile, Deepika, a vocal advocate of women's safety and a critique of film scheduling, will next be seen in King, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
