In a video now out online, Salman Khan can be seen singing 'Main Hoon Hero Tera' from 2005's Hero, as seen on a television within the clip, with Sonu Nigam allegedly reacting to it. Meanwhile, Sonu can be seen saying that he has heard a good song after a long time, that it made him feel like running out of patience, and that he would cry if he listened to something like that. In the video, Sonu Nigam appears visibly tired, as he holds his forehead, although he seemingly praised the song. However, the video came with a piece of text claiming that Sonu roasted Salman's singing.
Responding to the claim, the singer wrote, "Can expect the unexpected on the internet. I stumbled upon this edited video. This was my reaction to a Pakistani little girl singer."
According to Anish Mathew, also a singer, Sonu reacted to the singing prowess of a girl named Hadiya Hashmi in the video. Other users also agreed with the iconic singer's assertion that the video has been tampered with.
The video surfaced again online recently and has been linked to a credit dispute that has no connection to Sonu Nigam. Salman Khan Films shared the song marking Hero's 11th release anniversary without crediting its music director Amaal Mallik or its lyricist. Subsequently, Amaal Mallik criticised Salman Khan Films for the oversight on their part. "It doesn't look nice that a song that is created with the pain, blood, sweat and tears of a music composer and his lyric writer is celebrated without the creators being respected or even mentioned," the composer wrote.
Apparently, the exchange between Amaal and Salman's production banner encouraged users to dig up old videos and fabricate a larger clash between singers and the superstar.
