On Thursday, Prime Video dropped a new song from its upcoming film Don't Be Shy, directed by Sreeti Mukerji and starring Aarushi Bajaj, Ansh Duggal, Bianca Arora, and Piyush Khati. Titled 'Re Bawri,' it is officially described as "a fun, feel-good song," with vocals by Sona Mohapatra, lyrics by Saveri Verma, and composition by Ram Sampath. The lyrics address the film's protagonists, affectionately telling them not to be wary of things lying ahead in life.
Regarding the song, Sona Mohapatra shared, "'Re Bawri’ has that infectious, carefree quality that makes it impossible to sit still. It’s playful and energetic and celebrates those moments when you’re with your friends with music in the background and nothing else really matters." Regarding what the film's producer and actors bring to the table, the singer added, "Seeing Alia and the cast bring that energy to the music video was such a joy to watch, and I think they capture the spirit of the song beautifully. I had a lot of fun bringing that spirit into the song, and I hope it makes listeners want to get up, dance, and be a little bawri themselves."
The song also features the film's producer Alia Bhatt, who brings her energetic spirits to the track set mostly in a classroom.
Don't Be Shy follows 20-year-old Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das "who thinks she has everything figured out until her perfectly planned life takes an unpredictable turn, and things begin to spiral out of her control," according to an excerpt from the official synopsis. The film is produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under the banner of Eternal Sunshine Productions, as well as being co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani for Chalkboard Entertainment.
The film also stars Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia, and Anju Alva Naik in important roles. It is slated for a September 25 release.
