

Amitabh Bachchan, who will turn 84 in a month, recently sparked a lot of curiosity about his speculated retirement plans, after one of his blog posts went viral where he wrote, “It’s late, time to retire.” However, in another blog post, the legendary actor decided to set the record straight.
Sharing a newspaper cutting on his blog, of a report that wrote speculatively about his retirement, Amitabh penned, "I wrote in the blog .. 'it's late, time to retire .. ' which we all know means retire to bed it's late .. and this is the Media - the Conscience of a nation - the ultimate informer!!" Taking a dig at the said Hindi publication without naming it, the veteran added, “No, sir. I am not retiring from work. In English, it means it’s time to sleep. And there, esteemed gentlemen, you are not invited."
In another cryptic post on his X page, the actor had written, “Those who say this don't understand the language, and they start explaining their made-up understanding in print.”
It is to be noted that Amitabh Bachchan is well-known to be one of the most punctual Bollywood actors to late. Infact,the actor often keeps sharing anecdotes from his personal life, about he manages to stay punctual despite a busy schedule.
On the professional front, the legendary actor is currently busy hosting the 18th season of his popular TV Kaun Banega Crorepati. On the big screen, it’s been a while since Amitabh Bachchan made a major appearance. In 2024, he appeared in two big-scale movies — Kalki 2898 AD and Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan.
