Salman Khan Films, the production banner which backed the 2015 film Hero, recently made post on their official Instagram page, celebrating the completion of 11 years of the film’s release. However, while it shared the title song clip, the makers skipped crediting Amaal Mallik and Kumaar, the composer-lyricist duo of the song. Amaal called out the makers for the same.

Taking to the comments section of the said post, Amaal wrote, “It doesn’t look nice that a song that is created with the pain, blood, sweat and tears of a music composer & his lyric writer is celebrated without the creators being respected or even mentioned. Learn to do the basics otherwise delete this page. Don’t delete my comment, let Salman sir see it as well so that he knows you guys screwed up.”

Within hours of Amaal’s comments, the post was edited with Amaal and Kumaar’s accounts being tagged. However, once a few netizens began trolling Amaal for creating a ruckus, Amaal’s brother Armaan Mallik came forward in his defense. Taking to his X post while responding to the trolls, Armaan wrote, “I’ve always been grateful for my beginnings, but I also know how hard it has been to reach where I’ve reached. If we don’t fight for our right, no one will.”

Amaal and Salman collaborated over films like Jai Ho (2014), Hero (2015) and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jaan (2023).

Amaal is also known for his work in films like Airlift, Kapoor and Sons, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kabir Singh and Vedaa. Nearly two weeks ago, the singer-composer announced a temporary break from the industry, leaving his fans in grief and shock.

“Need a break for my mind, body, soul and overall physical healing. Need to rise, recuperate and bounce back soon with a heart full of melodies for you all my dearest #Amaalians. PS – No more film music till next year, old unreleased film songs will arrive soon if the films even end up releasing, as they are smaller budget movies with good intent and such people don’t get screens easily so don’t know the future of those projects,” he had penned in a heartfelt post.
