Divyenndu, who is currently basking in the succes of Mirzapur: The Movie, will soon be headlining an MX Player original series titled Waiting Hai. On Monday, the makers released the first teaser of the series.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sameer Vidwans, Waiting Hai promises to telle the story of Sugam Mishra (Divyenndu), newly posted Railway Police officer, who finds himself stuck in the one place no traveller wants to be — the Waiting List. When he notices certain agents getting confirmed tickets while other passengers continue to wait, Sugam gets to the bottom of it, determined to uncover the people pulling the strings, chasing a hacker (Bhuvan Arora) who always manages to be one step ahead. As their paths collide, the story sets up a playful cat-and-mouse chas — what begins as a fight for tickets soon opens the door to a shuddh desi scam hiding in plain sight.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay Rai, the series additionally features Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Harshita Gaur, Srushti Tare, and Sunita Rajwar in pivotal roles. Shreyas Jain (Dangal, Bawaal) serves as the scriptwriter for the comedy-drama series.
A Jio Studios presentation and Jar Pictures Production, Waiting Hai promises to bring together everyday railway chaos, sharp humour, and a mystery that grows more intriguing with every ticket.
The MX Original series will soon be available for streaming, although a premiere date is yet to be announced.
Sameer Vidwans is known for Satyaprem ki Katha (2023) and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (2025). His 13-year filmography also includes popular Marathi films like Double Seat and Anandi Gopal.
