Mirzapur: The Movie, the film spin-off of the acclaimed Prime Video series, is faring well at the box office. The crime-drama, featuring an ensemble of actors Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Rasika Dugal, and Abhishek Banerjee, among others, has made Rs 32 crore net in its second release day, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. The Gurmmeet Singh directorial, written by Puneet Krishna, had an impressive opening at Rs 25.75 crore. The film’s net collection now stands at Rs 57.75 crore.
For a film that stars mainly character actors rather than A-list stars, it is a huge number, showing how well the film has been received for its reach within the beloved series. The first-day collection even surpassed hits such as Saiyaara ( Rs 22 crore) and Awarapan 2 ( Rs 21.50 crore).
Internationally, the film collected Rs 6 crore on its second day, taking its overseas gross collection to Rs 10.25 crore. This further pushed its worldwide gross collection to Rs 79.55 crore.
Mirzapur: The Movie is an offshoot from the first season of the series. It sees Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyennndu reprise their fan-favourite characters of Kaleen Bhaiyya, Guddu Pandit, and Munna Tripathi. The film also sees a new addition of Ravi Kishan as Babloo Babua, a baahubali from Rajasthan eyeing the throne of Mirzapur. Jitendra Kumar replaces Vikrant Massey as Babloo Pandit in the film.
