Kunal Khemu is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film VIBE, where he dons multiple hats, including those of a director, actor, and producer. The makers of the film launched the trailer at a recent event. During the function, Kunal spoke about having Preity Zinta onboard in the role of an undercover agent in the film.
He said, "When I came to this character, I was genuinely thinking about who it would be, what it would be. And in my mind, I'm also a big Preity Zinta fan. So, what happens is, when that woman comes in, she's Preity Zinta. And people say, Preity Zinta, she's an undercover agent. And Preity Zinta says, “What did you think? I got married and went to America, this is my life. I'm actually a government agent”. So, this thought came to my mind, but of course, I didn't carry on with that thought."
Kunal added, "But when I finished writing this film, and then it came to casting this, I had never seen her acting before. No one would have expected this. So, it'll be the best casting. Now, all I need to do is get her to say yes. So, that's how the journey started. But I'm very happy that she agreed to do this film. And I think she looks lovely as Madam H."
VIBE is produced by Kunal alongside Chirag Nihalani through the Drongo Films banner in association with Amazon MGM Studios. It also stars Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir in important roles. The trailer promises a thrilling film filled with action, humour, chaos and twists that the audience might not see coming. Billed as a high-stakes action comedy, the film is slated for a September 18 release in theatres.
