The trailer of Ramayan: Part 1, which was released nearly a month ago, drew very strong and polarising reactions. However, among all the praises and brickbats, another thing stood out for the film-lovers — the absence of Sunny Deol, who plays Hanuman in the much-awaited mythological epic. However, now reports are coming in that Sunny Deol will indeed make an appearance in the first instalment of the two-part franchise, but only towards the climax.

According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Ramayana: Part 1, will conclude with an appear from Sunny Deol. The source in said report stated further, “It could also be presented as a mid-credit or post-credit sequence. The idea is to leave the audience on a massive high, like Baahubali. The ‘Kattappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara? (Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?)' moment considerably amplified the excitement for the second film. Similarly, the makers of Ramayana are hoping that the introduction of Lord Hanuman will create a frenzy in cinemas and leave audiences waiting for the sequel.”

The Ramayana trailer, which was unveiled on July 30, introduced many of its primary characters like Lord Ram (Ranbir Kapoor), Sita (Sai Pallavi), Lakshman (Ravie Dubey), Raavana (Yash), Kaikeyi (Lara Dutta) and Surpanakha (Rakul Preet Singh). Among others, the trailer also established other cast members of the film like Arun Govil, and Vivek Oberoi.

And while the trailer didn’t reveal Sunny Deol, a select group of attendees at CinemaCon 2026 got a glimpse of him as Lord Hanuman during an exclusive presentation of Ramayana footage in April this year.
