On Wednesday, the makers of Salman Khan starrer Maatrubhumi unveiled new single from their film, titled ‘Jai Hind.’ Himesh Reshammiya is the music composer for the upcoming war-drama.
Penned by Sameer and with vocals by Stebin Ben, 'Jai Hind' is a rousing patriotic number that effectively uses the 'Jai Hind' chant to create a strong feeling. The patriotic track reunites Salman and Himesh Reshammiya after 3 years. Taking the patriotic vibe to a whole new level, and filmed on a grand scale, the music video sees Salman Khan leading other army officers from the front in military uniform. The song doesn't just celebrate the victory on the field but also shows the tough, unsung journey of a soldier, be it the long nights at forward posts, or the sacrifices made back home by families who wait patiently for their loved ones.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, and inspired by real-life military heroism along the border, the film stars Salman Khan in a high-intensity avatar alongside Chitrangada Singh. The supporting cast includes Zeyn Shaw and Abhishrri Sen.
Produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace has reportedly been resubmitted to the censor board for certification. The film was previously titled Battle of Galwan, before the film went for reshoot.
A few days ago, there were also reports that the makers are eyeing a November release for their film, a week or two after the arrival of Ramayana. However, the team hasn’t made any announcement about the same.
Meanwhile, Salman's upcoming films include Monster, the pan-India actioner which features Nayanthara as the female lead and has been tentatively scheduled for March 2027 release.
