Ayushmann Khurrana, who was last seen in Pati Patni aur Woh Do, is currently gearing up for the release of Udta Teer, the spy comedy scheduled for release on October 23. The second trailer of the film was unveiled on Tuesday, which plays deeper into the absurdity of its plot — of a Pakistani spy who lands in India, having forgotten his past self. Recently, Ayushmann spoke about the film’s distinct comic elements.
In an official statement, the Andhadhun (2018) actor said, “Just when you think you know where Udta Teer is going, it takes another turn. For me, the real hero of the film is its unique, genre-bending premise. We've seen patriotic films, action films and comedies, but bringing all three together in such a fun, unconventional way is something audiences haven't really seen before."
Directed by Akash A Kaushik, Udta Teer stars Sara Ali Khan as the female lead and stellar actors like Mukul Dev, Ram Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Gulshan Grover, Suhail Nayyar, Rahul Bose and Supriya Pilgaonkar in the ensemble cast.
With its second trailer, that was released on Tuesday, the film promises to a first-of-its-kind patriotic comedy, offering a big dose of comedy, action and entertainment, setting the stage for a theatrical experience packed with surprises and plenty of laughs.
The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, under Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. While clashing against many other films, Udta Teer is likely to have an edge at the box office.
Ayushmann’s upcoming films include Yeh Prem Mol Liya, the Sooraj R Barjatya directorial which also stars Sharvari. The family entertainer is set for release on November 27.
