It has only been four days since the passing of legendary actor Nana Patekar. At the time, it was revealed that the actor died due to a cardiac arrest. His post-mortem report, released recently, revealed that the actor was suffering from coronary artery thrombosis at the time of his death. An acute myocardial infarction stemming from the aforesaid health situation is the specific cause of Nana Patekar's death, according to an NDTV report. The revelation comes from a doctor working for the Goa Medical College and Hospital.
Initially, Goa police registered an unnatural death case as a procedural requirement, since the actor was declared dead at the time he was taken to the hospital, necessitating an autopsy. However, the subsequent post-mortem report has conclusively ruled out any foul play in the actor's passing. Reportedly, statements of his family members also confirmed that they have not suspected any foul play.
Nana Patekar was cremated very late on the date of his death. His final rites took place at his family farmhouse in Donje village, near Pune, Maharashtra.
Nana's son, Malhar Patekar, explained that the late-night cremation was chosen as much time had already passed since the actor’s demise earlier that morning, hence they preferred not to push the last rites to the following day. Coincidentally, in a previous media interaction, the actor had mentioned that he kept dry wood at his Pune farmhouse for his eventual cremation. He was given a final farewell with full state honours from the Government of Maharashtra, with police personnel carrying his mortal remains. State dignitaries, political leaders, and other public figures attended the function to pay their final respects to the actor alongside his family, friends, and fans.
