Actor Piyush Mishra has hit out at Naseeruddin Shah for not giving words of praise to Captain Smit Machchhar, the flydubai pilot who suffered blows from his co-pilot but prevented him from hijacking an Israel-bound flight. He also attacked Naseeruddin for not addressing the alleged police brutality at Lovely Professional University in Aam Aadmi Party-ruled Punjab.

This comes after Naseeruddin recently met Cockroach Janta Party-convener Abhijeet Dipke at the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar held in Mumbai recently.

In a video being shared on social media, Piyush says, “Hello, Naseer sir, I am Piyush Mishra, your old acquaintance. I saw you met Abhijeet Dipke recently. It was pleasing to see that.”

The actor then went out to sarcastically say that Naseeruddin should also have commented on Captain Smit Machchhar and how he bravely saved “about 180 lives.” Piyush also shed light on the recent skirmish between students and police at LPU in Punjab where “girls’ backs have been broken.” The Gangs of Wasseypur actor also criticised Naseeruddin for sharing a Pakistani poet’s nazm to him when he had asked support from him for student protester’s in Jharkhand. “They didn’t need poetry,” he says. “They needed aata and daal. They were not seeking burgers or pizzas. The poem you sent was so dense in Urdu that even I couldn’t understand it, what people in Jharkhand would have.”

Piyush ended the note with a warning to Naseeruddin. “Now if you ever give any statement Piyush Mishra will put out a retort.”

Neither Naseeruddin nor his representatives have issued a response to Mishra's video statement.

Previously also Piyush had taken a dig at Naseeruddin for not attending the Jharkhand students' protest. Addressing the media, Piyush had said, “Naseer Sahab, you had said during the CJP protest that some people from the film industry weren’t speaking up for the students protesting at Jantar Mantar. You said those who have bones in their mouths, they don't speak. With all due respect, I would like to ask you, where are the other dogs who can’t speak?”

Before this, speaking to The Wire, Naseeruddin had talked about the industry’s response to CJP-led protests, saying “There's a saying: a dog with a bone in its mouth can't bark. As soon as the bone drops out of their mouth, or it breaks their teeth, then they will bark”.
