Actor Divyenndu is making his debut in Telugu cinema with a role in Peddi, starring Ram Charan in the lead role and directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The actor recently spoke about feeling embarrassed about not knowing Telugu while working on the film. He revealed that people in the Telugu states are familiar with his work in Mirzapur, hence he felt awkward about not knowing the local language. Therefore, he made it a promise to learn the language the next time he would work in Telugu cinema.
In his latest revelation, Divyenndu spoke about Buchi Babu Sana's narration of Peddi to him. Speaking to M9 News, the actor said that the filmmaker narrated the story in Telugu and that there was a translator to help him with it. However, the actor also disclosed that he connected with the story so emotionally that he no longer needed a translator, except for a few technical details.
Divyenndu said that he felt that Peddi could be a big-scale mass film focusing mainly on the protagonist. "But the nuances and the layers in the film have taken me by surprise. I was moved emotionally after hearing the whole script. I went up and hugged him," the actor said referring to the narration by Buchi Babu Sana.
Calling it "a beautiful story," the actor said that Peddi would be among the biggest films of not only 2026 but of the past five years, including Hindi cinema. "It is so beautifully detailed. There is so much emotion, honesty and soul in this film and that too in a commercial zone," the Mirzapur star said.
Peddi stars Ram Charan as an athlete, a cricketer, and a wrestler. The teaser for the film and other promotional materials have only added to the anticipation around its release, which is slated for June 04, Thursday.
