‘Mashooqa’, the second song from Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna starrer upcoming rom-com Cocktail 2, was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The romantic number has been composed by Pritam, written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Raghav Chaitanya, Mahmood and Ruaa Kayy.
‘Mashooqa’ is an Italian Canzone Napoletana style song with operatic high notes. The music video is entirely picturised on Shahid and Kriti and shows them on a road trip in the Italian countryside, drinking, partying and falling in love.
Speaking about the song, Shahid shared, “’Mashooqa’ has a vibe that pulls you in instantly. Kriti and I genuinely had such a blast shooting this one because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s stylish, playful and just a lot of fun. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to let go a little, turn the volume up and enjoy the moment. Pure summer energy.”
Kriti added, “This song is such a vibe. It’s groovy, flirty and reminds me of Sicily — both musically and visually.”
Previously, the party number ‘Jab Talak’ from the film was unveiled by the makers.
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 is the spiritual sequel to the director’s 2012 love-triangle comedy-drama Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.
The trailer for Cocktail 2 is scheduled to release on May 29. The film is slated to release on June 19.
