Earlier this Friday, Netflix announced that its film Maa Behen, starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, and Dharna Durga in important roles, will release on June 04, Thursday, on the streamer. The announcement coincided with Madhuri Dixit's birthday. Described as a "rooted crime-comedy packed with chaos, comedy, and full-blown kaand (scandal)," the film is directed by Suresh Triveni.
The story explores a dysfunctional relationship between a mother (Madhuri Dixit) and her two daughters (Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durga). The official premise from Netflix reads: "What happens when a dysfunctional mother-daughter trio — Rekha, Jaya, and Sushma — find themselves in the middle of their biggest nightmare, or as they would call it, ek bada kaand [one big scandal]? "
Maa Behen also stars Ravi Kishan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Shardul Bhardwaj, and Arunoday Singh, among others. Produced by Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment in association with Opening Image Films, the film is billed as "a wild ride of twists and turns."
