Junaid Khan recently had a theatrical release Ek Din, the romantic drama also starring Sai Pallavi in the lead, which didn’t perform well at the box office. This was Junaid’s third film, after Maharaj (2024) and Loveyapa (2025). In a recent interview, Junaid opened up about his privileges as a star-kid and acknowledged his father Aamir Khan’s influence on his career, also sharing details about his further projects.
Speaking with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Junaid Khan, “The word ‘nepotism’ doesn’t irritate me because it’s true. I get a lot of work because I’m Aamir Khan’s son. It's a big advantage.” Reflecting on his opportunities as a star kid and his market viability, Junaid added, “Producers will sign people based on what they can sell. Their priority is what they can sell, not what is best for the film. They are not looking at which actor suits the character best, but rather which actor can be marketed more easily.”
Also sharing his own views on the distinction, Junaid added, "For me, it’s not an insider versus outsider debate. It’s about not casting someone just because you can sell them. Cast someone who is right for the film.”
Junaid also confirmed his next two projects as an actor. While one of them is Ragini MMS 3, where he co-stars with Tamannaah Bhatia. The film is directed by Shashanka Ghosh.
Also sharing details about another upcoming film, Junaid added, “I am also doing another film titled Has De Meri Jaan. It’s being directed by Deba Mitra, and produced by Sunny Narula and Piyush Gupta. Both these films will start soon, and I am looking forward. Has De Meri Jaan will go on floors first.”
