Babil Khan has had his share of struggles. The actor has often spoken about missing his father, the late actor Irrfan Khan. Last May, he had also put up an emotional video where he had opened up about his personal struggles and how he is unable to cope with the pressures of the film industry. Following that, Babil decided to step away from the limelight and even exited certain projects.

On Monday, however, Babil took to social media to announce that he is starting the second schedule for a film (details of which are still under wraps) and also penned a heartfelt message to his fans. The post has a selfie, a photo from the sets and a message which reads: “As I start the 2nd schedule of shooting, I would like to take a moment to let you know that I love you and acknowledge how much your love means to me. I work my bum off so that every second you spend watching me is worth it. Hope to see you from your screens very soon.”

After the controversy in May, Babil had quit social media and only came back to it last October. He posted a photo where he is wearing a red sweatshirt and looking intensely towards the camera. In the caption, he wrote, “Didn’t mean to eavesdrop. This glass house has lean walls. I wore my heart on my sleeves, now I have blood-soaked t-shirts. I needed time to heal. My demons left me with deep cuts.  Insomnia and panic had me making wired confessions. I was crying out for help, I couldn’t stifle my expression.”

He added, “The toll was heavy on my health, my soul was tired of repression, ‘you were fighting with your girl while I was fighting my depression…wait..’”

In May, Babil shared distressing videos on his stories where he was seen crying, naming some actors and talking about the challenges of being in the film industry. He later deactivated his account for some time. In the deleted video, Babil dropped names of several celebrities like Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav and Arijit Singh in one of the videos and followed it up by saying, “Bollywood is so screwed,” leading to many on the internet wonder if he is being isolated in the industry.

Later, his family and team issued a statement stating that the actor had a “difficult day” and that he mentioned the celebrities’ names from a “place of genuine admiration” and for “their authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry”.

The actor was last seen in the cyber-thriller, Logout, which came out on ZEE5 last year.
