Multiple exhibitors in Chennai have revealed that they would not be able to screen paid premieres of Dhurandhar: The Revenge in Tamil today. While some have not explained the decision, multiple exhibitors, such as Kamala Cinemas, attributed it to the fact that the theatres have not received the Tamil version from the film's makers. Instead, the theatres will screen the original Hindi version of director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar sequel, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. They have also promised refunds for those who have already booked tickets. While many of these Hindi shows will have English subtitles, some of the theatres have apologised for the lack of the subtitles.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge first review: Ram Gopal Varma calls the film Sholay x 100

With a runtime of around four hours, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to continue the story of Ranveer Singh's Hamza Ali Mazari. In the first part, the Indian spy tries to infiltrate a network of terrorists and gangsters in Pakistan. The makers have released promotional content that promises greater stakes in the second part. It is worth noting that the film's runtime exceeds that of the first part.

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt as SP CHaudhary Aslam, R Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, Sara Arjun as Yalina Jamali, Rakesh Bedi as Jameel Jamali, and Bimal Oberoi as Shirani. Aditya Dhar's actor spouse Yami Gautam has a cameo role in the film as well.

There is massive anticipation around the second film, mostly because of the humongous success of the first part. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar has grossed more than 1300 crore at the global box office. In the process of doing so, it has become the highest-grossing film at the India box office through a single-language release. The film is streaming on Netflix at the moment.
