Yesteryear screen icon Zeenat Aman has garnered a whole new fanbase with her social media posts in the past few years, where the actor frequently shares anecdotes and memories from her films. In her latest Instagram post, Zeenat Aman shared a story about her personal favourite song 'O Diwano’ from the 1978 film The Great Gambler.

While noting that ‘Do Lafzon Ki Hai’ is a more popular iconic composition, Zeenat stated about 'O Diwano’, “This one is my personal favourite. None of that drippy romance stuff here. Just the confidence and sass of a woman who knows her desirability!”

Sharing more memories of shooting the lavish song sequence, the actor added, “It had three outfit changes, of which the shimmering gold track-pant set (not featured in this clip but you can find it on YouTube) tickled me the most! Not only was the outfit completely over the top, the hair team decided to give me a short pageboy wig to go with, and the dance master decided to add in some high kicks for good measure.”

On a self-deprecating note, Zeenat Aman spoke about her limited dancing skills, adding, “I wasn’t a very confident dancer as I never had formal training unlike most of the actresses of the time. Still, i could “groove” and many a director realised it’s better to leave me to my own swaying device than frustrate themselves trying to coax complicated choreography out of me!

Directed by Shakti Samanta, and starring Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role, The Great Gambler was a commercial failure. The film, however, continues to receive a lot of love for its popular soundtrack by RD Burman.
