Anticipation has been building consistently for director Aditya Dhar's follow-up to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh. With barely two weeks to go for its release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge's trailer is set to drop at 11:01 am on March 07, Saturday. Producers Jio Studios and B62 Studios made the announcement earlier this Friday with a poster featuring Ranveer's character. The announcement has put an end to the speculation about the trailer release date, which came about as reports offered conflicting information about when it would drop.
Ranveer is set to comeback to the world of Lyari in his dual avatars, as an Indian spy in Pakistan and as a leader with political clout in the locality. The makers promise greater stakes in the Dhurandhar sequel, with the conflicts between the characters becoming more personal. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun.
The Dhurandhar sequel is set to hit theatres on March 19, Thursday. Earlier, it was announced that the Yash starrer Toxic would also release on the same date, but it has now been postponed to June.
Earlier this year, Dhurandhar broke box-office records, reportedly minting over 1300 crore from theatres worldwide. It also became the highest-grossing film in India through a single-language release as well.
The advance booking figures for Dhurandhar: The Revenge have also been promising, with trade analysts claiming that it is set to have the highest-ever opening for a Hindi film in North America. According to data from the industry tracker Sacnilk, advance sales for the film have gone beyond $800,000 for the opening weekend in and are expected to cross $1 million soon. Trade analysts expect the numbers to go up considerably when the trailer for the film becomes available.
