Ayesha Khan, who became an overnight sensation with her ‘Shararat’ dance performance in Dhurandhar, recently opened up about the perils of being a female public figure online and dealing with rampant sexual harassment in all forms. The actor was speaking to Barkha Dutt at the ‘Women of Impact’ summit that was held recently.

During the interview, Ayesha said, “I am sexualised almost everyday for my body on the Instagram. People have a problem whether I wear a normal top or skirt. I have to think a lot before posting anything online. It’s a sad space to be in.”

Further talking about tackling with such rampant online abuse, Ayesha Khan expressed genuine concern over lack of measures to deal with such things. She added, “Sometimes I am not in a mood to see comments telling me what they would have done to me if they had the chance. if you had the power, the strength, or if you could do what you wanted to do, then you are a potential rapist. It really scares me that these are actual human beings around us. And it is so normal, and nothing's being done about it. Everyone talks about it, And that's it. And it's not like a very new problem; It's been since ages. I so wish that something strict can be done about this.”
