Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut and actor-comedian Vir Das both have reacted to a recent comeback of a years-old rumour surrounding a kissing scene between the two during the shoot of their 2014 film Revolver Rani.

In a recent podcast with Siddharth Kanan, journalist Simi Chandoke claimed that Vir went through a traumatic time shooting for Revolver Rani with Kangana. She said that there was a scene that required her to kiss him passionately, where Kangana got carried away and forgot to stop. She said that the actor kept going even after the scene ended, claiming that she also bit his lip so badly “that it was bleeding.”

Vir took to X to clarify and said the story is “pure fiction” and that it is “unfair” to slander Kangana. “Right. Just so we are clear. This story is pure fiction. Kangana was a complete professional and I still maintain, a truly gifted artist. This is unfair slander to her. She went on to call me a terrorist a few years later for my comedy, but on set…no problems at all,” he wrote.

Kangana also replied to Vir’s post and called the claim “random.” “Thanks Vir but who is she ? Ewww seems like some weirdo using us to satisfy her demonic sex fantasies, I am eating your blood and you are traumatised and crying even today after a decade. How random.”

This isn’t the first time the story has done the rounds. Back in 2023, Kangana had addressed an earlier version of the same claim with a sarcastic Instagram post, joking that she seemed to be accused of “assaulting poor Vir Das” after already being linked to a public feud with actor Hrithik Roshan. Vir had reacted at the time too and questioned why it kept resurfacing.

Vir and Kangana had a clash in 2021 over his comedy special “Two Indias,” recorded during a performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, after it sparked backlash in India over his commentary on issues including sexual violence, the farmer protests and the country’s handling of the pandemic.

Kangana was among those who criticised the video at the time, calling it “soft terrorism” on Instagram and describing Vir Das as a “criminal.” Vir had defended the video then, saying it was meant as a satire about the duality within any nation, rather than an attack on the country itself.

In Revolver Rani, Kangana played a politician who is obsessed with Vir, who plays a Bollywood star. After the latter is kidnapped by the opposition, Kangana goes to save him.
