Rohit Shetty, who is currently busy with his next project Golmaal 5, was a subject of national news a few months ago after a firing incident outside his residence. Now, in a new development, the reputed filmmaker has received death threats through an audio clip.
According to a report by IANS, the extortionists have demanded a sum of Rs 20 crores from the filmmaker. According to police, one of Rohit Shetty’s staff members received the audio clip. The clip is suspected to have been sent by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who were earlier involved in the firing incident as well. According to other reports, the audio clip warns the filmmaker of a direct attack if the said extortion money is not paid.
A case has been registered at Juhu police station, and the said audio clip has been sent for forensic examination and verification of its authenticity.
Earlier in February this year, five bullets were fired late at night outside the Juhu resident of Rohit Shetty, near Mehmood Chowk. Soon after, the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang had claimed responsibility for the incident, and police arrested the alleged shooter Deepak Sharma in Agra a few days later.
Meanwhile, on a professional front, Rohit Shetty will also soon be seen returning as the host for the popular reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi, which is back with its 15th season. The show will premiere on TV on July 25. The contestant lineup includes Gaurav Khanna, Rubina Dilaik, Orry, Karan Wahi, Rithvik Dhanjani, Jasmin Bhasin, Harsh Gujral, and Avika Gor among others.
On the other hand, there have been no recent updates about Golmaal 5. A few months, Akshay Kumar had joined the cast of the popular comedy franchise.
