Ravi Kishan is set to make us laugh once again with a role in Dhamaal 4, alongside AJay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, and Jaaved Jaaferi, among others. At a recent promotional event for Dhamaal 4, Ravi shared an amusing story about how people mistook his 2013 Bhojpuri film for the recent Ranveer Singh blockbuster Dhurandhar.
Ravi said that his 2013 film Dhurandhar - The Shooter is in "a zone" similar to the recent Aditya Dhar directorial venture. "However, it was in Bhojpuri and was made on a limited budget," Ravi added. He also said that a large number of people watched his 2013 film recently because of the similarity in its title to Ranveer and Aditya's blockbuster.
Ravi Kishan also said half-jokingly that because of the resemblance in the titles of both films, his 2013 film's producer became a millionaire. "Usi bahane, producer, jinke paas rights hein, suddenly crorepati ho gaye," Ravi said even as breaks into a hysterical laugh.
Directed by Deepak Tiwari, Dhurandhar - The Shooter follows a brave Indian citizen standing up for everything he believes is right as corruption affects innocent people in his community.
Ravi Kishan's comments come not long after the two Dhurandhar films, starring Ranveer Singh, reportedly grossed more than 3000 crore from theatres worldwide. The franchise turned Ranveer into a bigger star than ever before, with a growing fan base across India.
Coming back to Ravi Kishan, the actor recently said that he also found it challenging to switch to the comic zone of Dhamaal 4 after coming straight to the project from Laapataa Ladies. The actor credited his Dhamaal 4 co-star Ajay Devgn for helping him get into the mindset of the character in the film.
Directed by Indra Kumar, Dhamaal 4 is set for a July 10 release in theatres.
