On the occasion of Madhavan's birthday, actor Vivek Oberoi took to social media to dedicate a note celebrating the former. Vivek also shared a video which showed both actors testing out vintage and concept cars.

He added, "But today, I want to go beyond the actor, the star, and the achiever, and celebrate the friend: kind, real, generous, and always full of life. Love you, brother. Wishing you a year filled with joy, health, magic, and many more unforgettable moments together. PS: Want to go for a drive?"
While Vivek Oberoi and Madhavan haven't worked together, the pair have been part of the Hindi and Tamil versions of Mani Ratnam's Aayutha Ezhuthu and Alai Payuthey, respectively. Vivek Oberoi also portrayed Madhavan's character from Alai Payuthey (1999), in Saathiya (2002).
