‘Kahaan Chale Gaye Ho Ram’, the first song from Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, and Preity Zinta’s upcoming partition-drama Batwara 1947, was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday. Composed by AR Rahman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar, the bhakti song has been sung by Anuradha Paudwal and Shaan.

The music video shows Shabana praying to Lord Rama. The film is set during the time of the 1947 Partition riots and the lyrics are about Rama’s mother Kaushalya singing, asking him to come back from his vanvaas in these dire times.

Previously the teaser of the film was released. It began with Aamir Khan’s voiceover, which briefly describes the turbulent time of the1947 Partition, riddled with violence and lack of humanity.

The film also stars Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, Batwara 1947 is scheduled to release during the Independence Day weekend on August 14 where it will clash with Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2.
