Nearly two months after its release in theatres, Ananya Panday and Lakshya's recent film Chand Mera Dil is all set for its OTT premiere. Directed by Vivek Soni, the romantic drama was released in theatres on May 22.
Chand Mera Dil follows Aarav (Lakshya) and Chandni (Ananya), who fall in love in college. After an unexpected pregnancy, which leads to them getting hastily married, their lives change completely. The film traces their journey from youthful romance to adulthood, dealing with responsibilities and mutual insecurities. Upon release, the film was met with mixed reviews from audiences and critics.
An excerpt from our CE review of the film reads, "What remains most saddening is how, almost 45 years later, mainstream Bollywood still cannot trust its audience to accept a film about parted lovers or an imperfect love story. While it tries to rehash the age-old ‘cant-leave-them-or-love-them’ sentiment, it refuses to fully commit to the heightened emotionality either. Chand Mera Dil is emptier than it looks."
The supporting cast of the film includes Manish Choudhary, Iravati Harshe, and Aastha Singh among others.
Besides helming direction, Vivek had also penned the screenplay (along with Tushar Paranjpe) and dialogues (sharing credits with Tushar and Akshat Ghildial).
Sachin-Jigar had composed music for the film, while lyrics were penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Chand Mera Dil will premiere on JioHotstar on July 17.
