O’Romeo trailer: Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in Vishal Bhardwaj’s bloody love-story

The trailer of Vishal Bhardwaj directorial O’Romeo was unveiled by the makers on Friday. Headlined by Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the film has an impressive ensemble of Nana Patekar, Vikrant Massey, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Farida Jalal and also has a cameo by Disha Patani. It has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

The trailer shows Shahid as a tattooed, razor-wielding gangster whom Triptii Dimri's damsel in distress approaches for a contract killing. But things become bloody after Shahid falls in love with Triptii and is possibly spurned by him. Nana Patekar plays a cop who might have Shahid's character under his thumb. Farida Jalal is Shahid's fiery grandmother. While Tamannaah and Vikrant are not featured in the trailer, they seem to be playing pivotal roles. The film promises Vishal's trademark poetic colloquialisms along with some crowd-pleasing moments and over-the-top action.

O’Romeo is inspired by a story in Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai which centers around Sapna Didi, who attempted to assassinate Dawood Ibrahim with the help of gangster Hussain Ustara to extract revenge for her husband's death.

The film is scheduled to release on February 13.
