Tere Ishk Mein, the romantic drama that released in theatres in November and received a thunderous response at the box office, is now ready for its OTT premiere. Netflix is the streaming partner for the film directed by Aanand L Rai.
Whil the streamer hasn’t officially announced the date yet, the film’s listing can be found already with Friday, January 23 mentioned as the release date. Starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in the lead, Tere Ishk Mein told the intense and eccentric strange love story between Shankar, a rogue Delhi University student and Mukti, a PHD research scholar. Mukti convinces Shankar to be part of her thesis project, getting him to mould his behaviour pattern — not realising that Shankar would fall in love with her in the process. How Shankar continues to pursue Mukti’s affections despite failing repeatedly, how he deals with the rejections, and how Mukti deals with the guilt of rejecting Shankar forms the crux of the story.
Written by Himanshu Sharma, the romantic drama had music by AR Rahman. The ensemble cast included Tota Roy Chowdhury, Prakash Raj, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Vineet Kumar Singh. In our review for the film, we noted, “Other characters might not be condoning Shankar’s acts but the film seems to be on his side. Mukti rejects him and is even scared of him, but the viewer never is.”
Tere Ishk Mein was Dhanush’s third collaboration with Aanand, and his fourth film overall. According to a report from Sacnilk.com, the film garnered nearly Rs 162 crore (gross) at the box office worldwide.
