Actor Radhika Apte recently talked about a shocking experience she had with someone who claimed to be her admirer. Speaking at a recent conversation for Oxford Union, the actor said that she does not pose for pictures with her fans at all. However, recently, someone went after the actor at a hotel, despite her denying a selfie with him, and asked for a photograph with her. "I told him that I would give you a selfie if you name three films I have worked in, and he said, 'Fair and Lovely ad,'" the actor revealed.
The incident made Radhika so angry, partly because it is not something she would do to someone and because she does not fancy the hero worship culture in the film industry. "It divides people, and I do not like it," she said about such excessive admiration by fans for actors.
Speaking about her profession, she said, "I think it needs to be looked at as a job only, because people also take advantage of it. I think the pay is a bit ridiculous. I love the money, but I think it is ridiculous." Known for her roles in Andhadhun and Sacred Games, Radhika Apte recently won plenty of appreciation for her performance in Sister Midnight, directed by Karan Kandhari. The drama, which explores a newly married woman's plight with an indifferent husband in a metropolitan city, is part of the General Entry Shortlist for a Best International Feature Film Oscar category this year.
