Border 2, the much-anticipated war drama, is set for theatrical release on January 23. On Friday, the makers unveiled the new single from their film, titled ‘Ishq Da Chehra.’
Composed by Sachet Parampara, Ishq Da Chehra is a tender romantic composition that captures the love and longing of soldiers as they spend a few priceless moments with their beloved before returning to the battlefield. Kausar Munir has penned the evocative lyrics, while Diljit Dosanjh, Parampara Tandon, and Sachet Tandon have served as playback singers for the composition. There is a strong Punjabi flavour to the composition, and an overall sense of melancholy to the lyrics.
The music video primarily focuses on warm moments between Varun Dhawan and Medha Rana, Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa, and briefly captures moments of warmth between Sunny Deol and Mona Singh, and Ahan Shetty and Anyaa Singh.
The first single of the film, ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge,’ achieved great popularity online, garnering over 50 million YouTube hits so far.
Anurag Singh, who has previously made films like Dil Bole Hadippa (2009) and Kesari (2019) among others, helms direction for Border 2. Anurag has also penned the screenplay and dialogues in collaboration with Sumit Arora.
The film is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta under the banners of JP Films and T-Series. Nidhi has also penned the storyline. Other key technicians include cinematographer Anshul Chobey, production designer Mayur Sharma and editor Manish More.
As of now, Border 2 is the only major Hindi film release slated for January 23 release.
