Yash Raj Films has come out in praise of Dhurandhar. The production house, known for creating the YRF Spy Universe and backing films like the Tiger series and Pathaan (2023), took to social media on Wednesday to call the Aditya Dhar directorial a “milestone moment in Indian cinema.”
In a post on Instagram, YRF wrote, “Dhurandhar is not a film… it’s a milestone moment
in Indian cinema that will be remembered forever. Congratulations to Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for becoming the highest grossing Indian film of all time (In a Single language).”
Appreciating Aditya’s directorial prowess, the production house added, “As the captain of the ship, Aditya Dhar’s clarity of purpose, fearless storytelling and unwavering commitment to excellence have
set a new benchmark for Indian cinema.”
They concluded the post with, “We also congratulate every cast member and technician of this brilliant film for giving their all. You are the Dhurandhars who made the thought
of the film explode so loudly and so gloriously on the big screen. Thank you for giving us cinema that inspires us to strive forward in the pursuit of creative excellence.”
The post comes at a time when many trolls on social media have been comparing YRF Spy Universe films with Dhurandhar stating that the former are unrealistic while the Ranveer Singh starrer showcases “real spy work” with its dark nitty-gritties. The recent release date change of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha, another Spy Universe film, was also linked with Dhurandhar 2 coming out on March 19. Alpha is scheduled to release on April 17.
The film's lead, Ranveer, started his career with a Yash Raj film, Band Baaja Baaraat (2010).
Dhurandhar also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun.
