The teaser of JioHotstar’s upcoming series Space Gen: Chandrayaan was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The series is set around the failure of the Chandrayaan 2 mission and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)’s comeback after. Directed by Anant Singh, the show marks the first collaboration between JioHotstar and The Viral Fever (TVF). Space Gen: Chandrayaan is led by Nakuul Mehta and also features Prakash Belawadi, Shriya Saran, Danish Sait, and Gopal Datt.
The 52-second teaser draws us into a room full of people holding their breath, scientists staring at screens, hands clasped, hearts racing as Chandrayaan-2 drifts just beyond reach. When the signal drops, it isn’t just a mission that fails; it’s years of sacrifice, sleepless nights, and quiet hope that come crashing down. What follows is not defeat, but resolve. A quiet, powerful decision to begin again.
Talking about the series, director Anant said, “India’s lunar mission is a masterclass in resilience and ambition. We knew early on that the soul of the story resides as much in the people who carried its weight as it did on the mission. It is a story of pride, unwavering faith, ambition and the ability to rise above failure.”
Nakuul added, “What resonated with me most was the sheer honesty of the script. It doesn’t just celebrate the final triumph; it honors the grit required to return after failure. Embodying that emotional journey was a challenge that stayed with me long after the cameras stopped rolling.”
