Veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi and his wife Rupali Barua got injured in an accident in Guwahati on Friday night. The incident occurred when the couple was crossing the street and was hit by a bike. The actor later went live on Instagram to assure fans that both he and his wife are doing well.
In the video, Ashish said, “Main ek ajeeb se time par live kar raha hoon, just to let you all know. Because main abhi dekh raha hoon bahut se news channels mein kya kya aa raha hain. Rupali and I were crossing the street yesterday, and a bike hit us. We are fine. Rupali is under observation. All is well, I am good. Chhota sa chot aya hai… but absolutely fine (I have gone live at a weird time just to let you all know… I am seeing what’s coming on a lot of news channels. He added, “We are walking, talking, and able to stand up, so this is just a message. Yes, the accident happened, but we are good; there’s nothing to sensationalize. I checked with the police, and the bike driver is also conscious. I wish him well. We are taken very good care of by the emergency staff at the hospital.” Ashish ended the video by thanking everyone for their concern.
He also wrote in the caption of his video, “Rupali and I are well. We are under observation. But doing well… Thank you for your love.”
Ashish and Rupali got married in 2023. The actor was previously married to Piloo Vidyarthi for 22 years, but the two got amicably divorced in 2022. He has a son from his previous marriage.
The actor is mostly known for playing antagonists. His filmography includes Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai (2000), Bichhoo (2000) and Jaal: The Trap (2003), among others. Recently he was seen in Kill (2024) and the Karan Johar-hosted reality show The Traitors Season 1.
