On Saturday, Hrithik Roshan penned a heartwrenching note in memory of his acting teacher MM Baig who passed away earlier this week. MM Baig worked as an assistant on many Rakesh Roshan films, and later went on to direct two films of his own.
Taking to his X page, Hrithik penned, “My dear Baig ji, I will forever be grateful to you for being the teacher I so needed at the start of my journey as an actor. You helped me gain confidence over my speech and delivery ... you were instrumental in shaping the actor in me.” Hrithik also credited Baig for helping him overcome his shyness and empowering his vulnerability. “I was lost. And you helped me find my way . Back when I was only 18years old. I still practice the lessons to this day. I will miss you,” Hrithik added, extending his condolences for the Baig family.
While Baig’s directorial debut Chhoti Bahu released in 1994, his other film Masoom Gawah remains unreleased. MM Baig’s body of work includes films like Razia Sultan and Agreement.
Baig’s daughter Shahinda Baig, popularly known as Baby Guddu, was one of the most recognisable child artists in the 1980s, having worked in movies like Aakhir Kyon?, Nagina, and Aulad.
