The second season of Netflix's popular show Kohrra has dropped on the streaming platform. The latest season has been gaining much appreciation from critics and audiences alike. Most of the critics shared positive Kohrra season 2 reviews, although some expressed their reservations about it. The detractors claim that they have not been able to connect with the second season, as opposed to the first one.
Interestingly, the latest to express a similar sentiment is director Sanjay Gupta. The filmmaker took to X and wrote, "I had loved Season 1. Watching episode 2 of Season 2 and its just not connecting with me. Sad ya." While he did not mention the name of the series, many of the users who commented under his post claim that he is referring to Kohrra season 2, starring Mona Singh, Barun Sobti, Rannvijay Singha, Anurag Arora and Pooja Bhamrrah. The filmmaker has not denied the claim.
Some of the users even abused the filmmaker for sharing his opinion about the series, but many also expressed their support for it. According to those in support of Sanjay's opinion, the latest season is 'overrated' and has pacing issues. Interestingly, it occupies the sixth spot in Netflix Tudum's list of the most popular shows in India for the first week of February. Topping the list is Taskaree: The Smuggler's Web: Season 1, starring Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. Netflix is yet to share the list with viewership statistics for the second week of this month.
Coming back to the Mona Singh-Barun Sobti starrer, in our review, Kartik Bhardwaj wrote, "With its second season, Kohrra reiterates that it is a well-executed noir piece which doesn’t lose its grip. The mystery is complex and layered and the sequel is a worthy successor of the first part."
The second season is created by Gunjit Chopra, Diggi Sisodia and Sudip Sharma as well as directed by Sudip Sharma and Faisal Rahman.
