Recently, there have been a lot of reports about major developments around Brahmastra 2, the much-anticipated sequel of Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra (2022). Now reports are coming in that the makers have approached Saiyaara fame Aneet Padda for a prominent role.
According to Filmfare, conversations are currently underway about Aneet being a part of the Brahmastra franchise. While nothing has been finalised yet, this is touted to be a very different role from Aneet’s previous appearances so far.
Aneet, who made her debut in 2022 with Kajol-starrer Salaam Venky, and later appeared in another OTT series Big Girls Don't Cry, became an overnight sensation with Mohit Suri directed Saiyaara (2025), the musical blockbuster which also marked the debut for Ahaan Panday.
In other developments around Brahmastra casting, Deepika Padukone’s team has denied reports of her involvement in the sequel and stated that the actress is not a part of Brahmastra 2. It is to be noted the actor was seen in a blink-and-miss cameo in the 2022 film, and was signed to play the protagonist’s mother in the sequel.
More details about Aneet’s role or the shoot plans for Brahmastra 2 are yet to be out. Produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva released in 2022. The big-scale superhero origin movie also featured big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna in notable appearances.
Meanwhile, Aneet is currently busy working on Shakti Shalini, the next instalment of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. She is reportedly also headlining a big-scale social drama that will soon premiere on JioHotstar.
Incidentally, the Saiyaara star broke the Internet earlier today, by making a rare Instagram post, where she uploaded a series of pictures from a recent vacation. Within 5 hours, the post has garnered more than a million likes on Instagram.
