Daadi Ki Shaadi, the upcoming comedy entertainer with Kapil Sharma in the lead role, is significant for many reasons. Besides marking Neetu Kapoor’s on-screen comeback after 13 years, the film also marks the acting debut for Neetu’s daughter and Ranbir Kapoor’s elder sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. Recently, Riddhima spoke about discussing her debut with Ranbir, and the advice the Ramayana actor gave her.
In an official statement, Riddhima said, “I spoke to Ranbir before starting. His biggest advice was to stay honest in front of the camera. He told me to trust my instincts and just live the character rather than perform it—and that really stayed with me."
The official trailer of Daadi Ki Shaadi was released a few days ago. Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film revolves around second chances and relationships. In the film, Riddhima will be seen playing Neetu’s cynical daughter who has her share of reservations about her mother’s decision to remarry in her old age. While Neetu Kapoor plays the protagonist whose single decision causes havoc in multiple ways at once, Riddhima’s character promises to add a unique layer to the emotional family dynamics.
Produced by Rtake Studios, BeingU Studios and Shimla Talkies, Daadi Ki Shaadi features stellar performers like Teju Kolhapure, Aditi Mittal, Sarath Kumar and Yograj Singh among many others. The film is set for a theatrical release on May 8.
