Actor Saiyami Kher recently revealed that she featured alongside Saif Ali Khan in an ad 12 years ago and now sharing screen space with him for their upcoming film Haiwaan marks a full-circle moment for her.
Speaking about it, Saiyami said, "I had shot for one of my very first campaigns as a model for an eyewear brand where Saif sir was the brand ambassador. I remember even back then almost 12 years ago he was so funny and so chill. I have admired his work and it felt so good to share screen space with him in Priyan sir’s film all these years later.”
“It feels like life has come around in the most beautiful way. There’s a certain sense of familiarity, Saif has been incredibly warm and gracious, and working with him now, as an equal collaborator, has been extremely comforting,” she added.
Haiwaan is inspired by Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam (2016), though with significant changes to both dialogue and screenplay, as told by the filmmaker. The original film featured Mohanlal as a visually impaired man who becomes the unlikely protector of a judge’s daughter. Recently, Priyadarshan confirmed that Mohanlal will appear in a cameo role in the film.
The film brings together the trio of Akshay, Saif, and Priyadarshan for the first time and also reunites Akshay and Saif on screen after 17 years since their last outing in Tashan (2008). The film also features Shriya Pilgaonkar. The makers are planning a 2026 release for the film.
