The makers of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do have now begun promotions in full swing, after announcing their film’s release a few days ago. As part of the same, the first single from the film, titled ‘Roop Di Rani,’ was released on Wednesday.
Originally written by Indeevar composed by Rajesh Roshan, ‘Roop Di Rani’ is a reworking of the 1982 song ‘Kaali teri Choti’ from the 1990 film Bahaar Aane Tak. Playback singers Guru Randhawa and Heer lend the number great vigour, infusing it with an adequate Punjabi flavour, while the remixing by Tanishk Bagchi ensures the beats are groovy and contemporary.
The music video, equally celebratory and robust in its picturisation, features all of the film’s lead actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh. Bosco-Martis is the choreographer.
Director Mudassar Aziz has also penned the story and dialogues, besides co-authoring the screenplay with Ravi Kumar. Mudassar’s previous direction credits include Pati Patni Aur Woh, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, and Khel Khel Mein.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra, and Krishan Kumar. In the technical crew, the film has cinematographer Jishnu Bhattacharjee, editor Ninad Khanolkar and production designer Manini Mishra. Ketan Sodha has composed the background score.
The comedy entertainer will release in theatres on May 15. The film marks Ayushmann's maiden collaboration with Sara and Wamiqa.
