The teaser of Anshuman Jha’s black comedy, Lord Curzon Ki Haveli was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Marking the directorial debut of Anshuman, the film has been written by Bikas Mishra and also stars Rasika Dugal, Arjun Mathur, Paresh Pahuja and Tanmay Dhanania in pivotal roles.
The short teaser begins with the visual of a brown suitcase and characters talk about what lies inside which builds a sense of mystery. Then a hammer is shown in the hand of a character as he walks around a lawn. There is an idol of a white rabbit lying on stairs in a house. Characters are seen talking about a joke. Arjun’s character asks, “Do you think it was a joke?” and Paresh says, “No more jokes please.” The teaser ends with Rasika again mentioning the joke while holding a glass of wine.
The film has been shot entirely in the United Kingdom and is set in the English countryside. “It blends together suspense, humour, sharp historical undertones, and a commentary on identity,” as per a press release.
The film had its world premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and was the only Indian Film at Europe's biggest genre film festival - Razor Reel Flanders, last year. It also bagged the 'Best Director' award at the Prestigious UK Asian Film Festival in 2024 in London for Anshuman.
It is produced by Golden Ratio Films and First Ray Films and will be released in theatres on October 10.
