Munjya actor Abhay Verma has begun shooting for his upcoming film, Laikey Laikaa, he announced through a social media post on Wednesday. The film will be directed by Saurabh Gupta, known for being the dialogue writer of Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (2023) and Sunny Deol's Jaat, and also stars Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani in the lead.
Abhay shared a short video on social media which featured his mother with the clapperboard of the film. As she is seen clapping it, Abhay has tears in his eyes. His mother is also seen interacting with others from the crew. The video ends with Abhay and his mother posing along with Rasha for a photo with the film’s clapperboard.
Sharing the video, Abhay wrote, “Meri ganpati bhi aap aur shiva bhi! Sab aapse shuru aur aapse hee poora mummy (My Ganpati and Shiva—both are you. Everything begins with you and completes with you). Saurabh Gupta Sir, ye saari roshni aapse hai (Sir, this light is because of you).”
Abhay started his career as a junior artist on the sets of Hrithik Roshan-headliner Super 30. Reflecting on his journey he earlier said, "Life has come full circle. I used to secretly watch Hrithik sir perform in Super 30, when I was a junior artist. I wish with Laikey Laikaa I will be someone’s reason to feel closer to their dream. Laikey Laikaa is a story about two people caught up in a different world.”
Rasha, on the other hand, made her debut earlier this year alongside Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan in Azaad. Abhay was last seen in the 2024 horror-comedy Munjya, alongside Sharvari. He also has Shah Rukh Khan starrer King in the pipeline. He is also rumoured to star alongside Shanaya Kapoor in Shujaat Saudagar’s yet-to-be-titled film.
More details about Laikey Laikaa have been kept under wraps. It is set to be released in theatres in Summer 2026.
