Amrita Rao starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s action-comedy, Main Hoon Na in 2004. She revealed in a recent interview the advice that the superstar gave her during a break from the film’s shoot.

Shah Rukh was shooting for another film during the break from the schedule of Main Hoon Na. Amrita said that he called her and her mother to meet him during the break. That’s when Shah Rukh told her, as she recalled, “He said something very nice that 200 filmein aayengi, par humein sirf do filmein karni hai. Aur fir usmein se vo ek film ho that people are waiting for. (He told me I will be offered 200 films, but I must sign only two in the hope that one of them is the one people are waiting for). That has been my criteria while signing films, and that’s why I have been so selective in this journey.”

She added, “He used to observe that I have newcomers with me and used to take that nervous energy from us. Every time the first take was the best take, there were no second takes because his temperament was like second take dena hi nahi hai (don’t ask for a second take), be so focused ki second take dena hi naa pade (ensure you don’t need to).”

Amrita was recently seen in Jolly LLB 3, which also starred Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Huma Qureshi and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles.

Shah Rukh meanwhile is currently shooting for his upcoming actioner, King. He recently received the National Film Award from President of India, Droupadi Murmu for his performance in Jawan. It was his first National Film Award win in a 30-year long career. He shared the award with Vikrant Massey who won it for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail.
