‘Ul Jalool Ishq’, a song from Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s upcoming romantic-drama, Gustaakh Ishq was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The song is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, sung by Shilpa Rao and Papon and features lyrics by Gulzar.
The music video of the song begins with Vijay and Fatima getting ready in front of the mirror. They are then seen meeting as the vocals by Papon begin, underlining the feeling of love. The song has a tender feeling due to the subdued music composition by Vishal while the lyrics by Gulzar describe the innocence of love with a new flavor. Later, Vijay and Fatima are seen sneaking into a closed property by picking the lock and having tea as the sun sets in distance. They are then seen meeting in the city as they spend a quieter time by green fields later where Vijay is trying to say sorry to her. Naseeruddin Shah briefly features in the song as he is privy to their burning love affair. It ends with a montage of quick dramatic shots from the film.
Directed by Vibhu Puri, Gustaakh Ishq has been produced by celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra along with his brother Dinesh Malhotra under their Stage5 Production banner. Earlier, its teaser was unveiled and the film seems to be set in an erstwhile era in the bylanes of Purani Dilli and the fading kothis of Punjab.
Speaking about his foray as a producer with the film, Manish said earlier, “My love for cinema began in childhood. The silver screen was my doorway to the world, watching colours, clothes, music, and lifestyles unfold in cinema halls shaped my imagination and inspired me to become a designer. Today, stepping into film production feels like my way of giving back to the medium that has given me everything.”
Gustaakh Ishq is set to be released in theatres on November 21.
