Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan approached the Delhi Hight Court on Tuesday to protect her personality rights and to restrain people from using her name and images without authorisation along with stopping the spread of her AI-generated, morphed photos.

The court was presided over by Justice Tejas Karia who heard the matter and hinted at passing an ad-interim order cautioning the defendants.

Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, appearing for Aishwarya, said that her identity is being exploited for both commercial gain and making inappropriate content. Sandeep argued that various websites were falsely claiming to be her official platforms thereby infringing upon her publicity rights.

Sandeep named a company, Aishwarya Nation Wealth, which falsely listed the actor as a chairperson when she had no legitimate affiliation with them. He clarified that his client had no awareness of it and was not involved with such entities.

Sandeep also highlighted that some obscene, morphed and AI-generated images of the actor were widely circulated online which is a violation of her dignity.

"There can be no right in their favour to use her images, likeness or persona. A gentleman is collecting money merely by putting her name and face," Sandeep argued.

"Her name and likeness is being used to satisfy someone's sexual desires. This is very unfortunate," he said.

Aishwarya was also represented through advocates Pravin Anand and Dhruv Anand.

The high court listed the matter for further proceedings before the joint registrar on November 7 and before the court on January 15, 2026.
