Tusshar Kapoor will be seen next in Prakash Jha’s upcoming political thriller Janadesh. The film boasts of an ensemble cast, with Tusshar playing a pivotal role.

Sharing how the project came his way, Tusshar revealed, “Prakash ji called me and said that he has a character for me in this film. It came out of the blue, almost like a sign from the universe. I had been wanting to do a political thriller, especially with someone like Prakash Jha ji, who excels in this genre. I deeply admire his work, and I feel fortunate to be getting this opportunity to explore a new space as an actor.”

Speaking about his preparation process for the film, Tusshar said, “Prakash ji and I have been meeting for mini-workshops to delve into the character understanding how he sees me in the role and what he expects me to bring to it.”

He added, “It’s a fictional character, not based on a real-life personality, but it is inspired by real people and true incidents. The idea is to keep it authentic and believable, and that’s what I am working on.”

More details from the film are awaited.

Tusshar was last seen in the horror-comedy, Kapkapiii, which was directed by the late Sangeeth Sivan and also starred Shreyas Talpade in the lead. It was released in theatres on May 23. Tusshar also had a cameo in Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, which came out last year. The actor will also be seen next in Welcome to the Jungle, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles.

Prakash Jha is known for making political-dramas like, Raajneeti (2010), Chakravyuh (2012), Aarakshan (2011) and Satyagraha (2013), among others. He also helmed the crime-drama series, Aashram (2020), starring Bobby Deol in the lead.
