It looks like Abhishek Bachchan has a lot to talk about and get rid of his chest, especially when it comes to public recognition of his performance. A while ago, an X user named Navneet Mundhra shared a picture of Abhishek holding his Filmfare Award and accused the latter of buying such recognition. The user called Abhishek "an affable guy" and suggested that he is "the prime example of how buying awards and aggressive PR pushes can keep you relevant." Navneet also looked down upon the commercial performance of I Want to Talk, Abhishek's film with director Shoojit Sircar for which he recently won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor, sharing it with Chandu Champion star Kartik Aaryan.
Abhishek, who is in his 25th year as an actor, did not take the user's comment lightly. Denying the accusations, he wrote, "Never has any award been bought or aggressive PR been done by me . Just hard work, blood, sweat and tears. But, doubt you’ll believe anything I say or write. So…. Best way to shut you up is by working even harder so that you don’t ever doubt any achievement that will happen in the future, again. I will prove you wrong! With all due respect and “affability”."
The user tried to calm things down by saying that he did not mean any harm by his comment and that it was only a subjective, non-personal take on Abhishek Bachchan as an actor. "Genuinely wish to see you more in mainstream movies in prominent roles," he wrote. However, Abhishek did not buy the user's explanation and said he views it personally. "Not fair to so easily tarnish, and that too incorrectly and frivolously, someone’s hard work for over 25yrs. Expect a great degree of responsibility from an editor and journalist. Which I am sad to note, you haven’t displayed in this case," the actor wrote. "Thank you for your laudatory writings about my conduct and work on occasion. Will work towards making that a constant for you," he signed off.
